Easy road access from Baar by bike or car; parking available.

Lordendamm 28, 6340 Baar
follow from Lorzendamm the road about 3km through the forest.

About an hour’s walk from the SBB (railway) station at Baar or 25 minutes’ walk from the Baar, Tobelbrücke-Höllgrotten bus stop (take the Zug–Menzingen bus route).

You can stroll through the caves undisturbed and at your own pace. It takes about 45 minutes to complete the walk but you should factor in more or less time depending on how long you spend at each location and how involved you get in the information panels and audioguide.

The temperature in the caves remains a steady 10°C (50°F), so it’s extremely advisable to bring warm clothes or a jacket with you. The paths and steps make the grottos easy to get around, but open-toed shoes are not recommended as you will have to walk through puddles and wet spots; walking boots are ideal! The roof can drip as well, so raingear will come in handy.
